Field Fundamentals for Powerline Technicians
A practical 60-minute refresher for eligible certified Journeyperson PLTs covering distribution, transmission, substations and the field fundamentals experienced workers need to keep sharp.
This is a field-focused refresher, not a replacement for apprenticeship technical training or employer-specific qualification. The program reviews practical concepts across distribution, transmission and substation work while reinforcing the requirement to follow the governing utility or employer procedure.
The interactive PLT field refresher is available after eligibility and payment are confirmed through your Lineman ID. Course material, assessment access and completion records stay inside the protected Lineman Canada training workflow.
After completing the refresher, write the integrated 25-question final assessment through your Lineman ID. All 25 questions must be answered correctly to complete the program. An unsuccessful attempt does not complete the course; review the applicable material and retake the assessment.
Successful completion generates a PowerlineTraining.ca Certificate of Completion and records the training on the worker's Lineman ID training record.
Important: This refresher does not authorize a worker to perform work for which they are not qualified, trained, competent or authorized. It does not replace employer HSE manuals, utility operating procedures, approved work methods, engineered procedures or applicable legislation.
The PLT Journeyperson Refresher uses the Lineman Canada training architecture for worker identity, eligibility, secure checkout, paid entitlement, assessment attempts, completion and certificate records.
